Landowner Action Helps Save Home in 2019 Williams Flat Fire

To get the work done, the landowner used the DNR Forest Landowner Assistance Cost-Share Program, which helps shoulder the cost of restoration for landowners in eastern Washington hoping to make their forests healthier and more resilient to fire.

Research: Fire Ember Production from Wildland & Structural Fuels

This study investigated ember production from selected wildland and structural (construction materials) fuels under a range of environmental conditions and scales. Results can be applied in the development of predictive models for WUI fire spread, estimation of wildfire risk, mitigation strategies, and development of building codes and standards.
